About Warana
Warana is a coastal suburb of Kawana Waters on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, about 10 kilometres north of Caloundra. One of four suburbs in the Kawana Waters project begun in 1960 by Alfred Grant Pty Ltd, it is centred on its beach foreshore reserve. The name, meaning blue sky, was adopted from an Aboriginal word reference and later inspired Brisbane's Warana Festival.
