About Parrearra

Parrearra is a canal estate suburb of the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, part of the Kawana Waters development and often called Kawana Island. Its name, meaning "length of river", was coined in 1967 by the developer Alfred Grant using an Aboriginal word list. The suburb is built around the Parrearra and Wyura canals, which are connected by a lock and weir.
