About Chillagoe
Chillagoe is a rural town and locality in the Shire of Mareeba in Queensland, once a thriving mining town for a range of minerals and now reduced to a small zinc mine and marble quarries. Just out of town is the Chillagoe-Mungana Caves National Park, containing hundreds of limestone caves in a spectacular karst landscape. The caves, along with the region's mining and smelting history, are the main tourist attractions of the area.
