About Petford
Petford is a rural locality in Far North Queensland, west of the Atherton Tablelands. Named after a Queensland Railways official, it was once an important siding on the Chillagoe to Cairns railway line and served as the terminus of the Cobb and Co coach route from Herberton. The former school now operates as outback accommodation.
