About Gaven

Gaven is a rural residential locality in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, located 11.1 kilometres northwest of Southport and immediately north of Nerang. Named after Eric Gaven, a councillor on Nerang Shire Council from 1935 to 1949, chairman of Albert Shire Council from 1949 to 1950 and a Country Party MP for Southport and later South Coast. The eastern boundary is marked by the Pacific Motorway. The locality shares its name with the state electoral district of Gaven.
