About Stanwell
Stanwell is a rural town in the Rockhampton Region, approximately 26 kilometres south-east of Rockhampton on the Capricorn Highway. Home to the Stanwell Power Station, a government-owned coal-fired facility supplying around 15 percent of Queensland's electricity, the town has deep roots in early dairying and quarrying.
