About Kabra

Kabra is a rural town and locality in the Rockhampton Region of Queensland. It grew around Kabra railway station, where the first stage of the railway line to Mount Morgan branched off when it opened in 1898. The neighbourhood of Boongary in the south-east of the locality takes its name from a railway station, whose name is an Aboriginal word meaning 'tree kangaroo'.
