About Kalapa
Kalapa is a rural locality in the Rockhampton Region, roughly 48 kilometres west-south-west of Rockhampton CBD, originally known as Woodend before being renamed in 1923. It is characterised by open grazing land and timber country typical of central Queensland's hinterland, and in 2013 became notable when Australia's first hand-cloned cow was born on a local Brangus cattle stud.
