About Kamerunga
Kamerunga is a town and suburb of Cairns, Queensland, Australia, located 13.3 kilometres north-west of the Cairns CBD. Its name derives from the Yidinji language word for the Barron Gorge. Situated on the Barron River, it features the Kamerunga Conservation Park, the historic Kamerunga State Nursery (1888), and the heritage-listed Kamerunga Lower Bridge (1911).
