About Cairns North
Cairns North is a coastal suburb of Cairns in the Cairns Region, Queensland, Australia, situated immediately north of the Cairns central business district. Bounded to the north by Cairns Airport, to the east by Trinity Bay, and to the west by Lily Creek, the land is flat and lies just above sea level. Parkland and an esplanade separate the developed areas from the shore. The suburb lies within Yidinji traditional Aboriginal country. Heritage-listed sites include the McLeod Street Pioneer Cemetery and the former Herries Private Hospital.
