About Fernshaw
Fernshaw is a locality in the Shire of Yarra Ranges of Victoria, at the foot of Blacks Spur on the Maroondah Highway north-east of Healesville. It was a township on the Watts River from the 1860s, a popular tourist stop on the Yarra Track until its removal around 1890 to protect the Maroondah water catchment; its site is now a picnic reserve among mountain ash forest.
