About Merrijig (Mansfield - Vic.)
Merrijig is a town in North-East Victoria, located between Mount Buller and Mansfield. It was a setting for the film The Man from Snowy River and is home to Timbertop, a campus of Geelong Grammar School at the foot of Mount Timbertop. The name is an Aboriginal word thought to mean 'good, well done'.
