About Sawmill Settlement

Sawmill Settlement is a small locality in the Mansfield Shire of Victoria's High Country, situated between Merrijig and Mirimbah along the Delatite River at the foot of the Victorian Alps. The locality takes its name from the timber mills that once operated here, and today serves as a gateway to the Mount Buller and Mount Stirling ski resorts roughly 30 to 40 minutes drive away. The locality retains its rustic charm with remnants of its sawmilling heritage visible throughout, and the annual Targa High Country rally event brings over 150 cars through the area each spring.
