About Joyces Creek
Joyces Creek is a locality on the Loddon River north-west of Newstead in central Victoria, named after the Joyce brothers who took up the Plaistow pastoral run in 1844. Part of the old settlement, including its railway station, was submerged when the Cairn Curran Reservoir was created in 1956. The Plaistow Homestead, built by the Joyce family, is on the Victorian Heritage Register.
