About Magpie
Magpie is a small town on the southern rural fringe of the City of Ballarat in Victoria, about six kilometres from the Ballarat central business district. Gold was discovered at Frenchmans Lead in the mid-1850s, which created the township, and the area retains an open, semi-rural character. Magpie Primary School serves the local community.
