About Cambrian Hill
Cambrian Hill is a former mining village located 8 kilometres south of Ballarat on the road to Colac, in the Victorian Central Highlands. It was settled by Welsh miners who named it after Cambria, the Latin name for Wales. The village sits close to the Yarrowee River and was described in the 1860s as a postal hamlet with agriculture, grazing, alluvial mining and three hotels.
