About Walkers Point
Walkers Point is a small rural locality on the bends of the Mary River, about 5 kilometres north-west of Maryborough in Queensland's Fraser Coast Region. The Mary River forms almost the entire boundary of the locality, giving it a distinctive riverside character. Sugarcane cultivation is the primary land use, continuing a tradition that has shaped the Mary River floodplain since the 1860s.
