About Island Plantation
Island Plantation is a rural locality on the Mary River in the Fraser Coast Region, about six kilometres north-west of Maryborough. The flat, low-lying land is used mainly for sugarcane farming with some grazing. A Baptist church was established there in 1906 and a temporary school operated during the Second World War.
