About Tinana

Tinana is a rural town and locality on the south bank of the Mary River, about 4 kilometres south of the Maryborough CBD. Named in 1852, possibly after a Maori chief known to settler John Carne Bidwill, the town retains heritage sites including the Police Paddock with wartime ruins. Sugarcane farming and residential development characterise the area today.
