About Tinana South
Tinana South is a rural locality in the Fraser Coast Region of Queensland, bounded by the Mary River to the west and Tinana Creek to the east, approximately 8 kilometres south-southwest of Maryborough. The Bruce Highway passes through the locality, and the principal land use is irrigated sugarcane growing alongside grazing on native vegetation. Parke State School opened in 1914, named after local sugarcane farmer John Parke who donated the land, and the flat alluvial soils of the Mary River floodplain support the area's agricultural character.
