About Yengarie
Yengarie is a rural locality in the Fraser Coast Region of Queensland, situated approximately 10 kilometres south of Maryborough along the Mary River floodplain. The area retains the heritage-listed ruins of the Yengarie Sugar Refinery, which operated from the 1870s, and the Central Sugar Mill, both reminders of the locality's early role in the region's sugar industry. Flat river country and small acreage properties characterise the landscape.
