About Lockyer (Qld)

Lockyer is a rural locality in the Lockyer Valley Region, approximately 17 kilometres east-north-east of Toowoomba and 27 kilometres west of Gatton. The locality takes its name from Lockyer Creek, believed to have been named by explorer Allan Cunningham in 1829 after Major Edmund Lockyer who explored the Brisbane River in 1825.
