About Kiels Mountain
Kiels Mountain is a rural hinterland locality in the Sunshine Coast Region of Queensland, located about 9 kilometres south-east of Nambour. The mountain, rising to 153 metres, is central to the locality and is home to Avatar's Abode, a spiritual retreat dedicated to Meher Baba established in 1958. Named after Heinrich August Keil, a German immigrant who first settled the area in 1880, the locality features elevated positions with views across the Sunshine Coast lowlands toward the ocean.
