About Healy
Healy is a townside suburb of Mount Isa in the City of Mount Isa, Queensland, located 2.5 kilometres south-southeast of the Mount Isa central business district. Named on 1 September 1973 after Edward Kevin Emmett Healy, Under Secretary in the Queensland Department of Mines, Healy is on the townside of the Leichhardt River which flows north-south through Mount Isa dividing suburbs into mineside to the west and townside to the east. Healy State School opened on 24 January 1972 before the suburb was officially named. Spinifex State College, a boarding school, has a residential facility at 83 to 85 Transmission Street.
