About Glen Russell
Glen Russell is a rural locality in the Shire of Mareeba in Far North Queensland. The Hodgkinson River rises in the south-west of the locality, part of the Hodgkinson Minerals Area that experienced a goldrush in the 1870s and sporadic mining through to the 1930s. Most of the land is used for grazing on native vegetation, with some crop growing in the centre and south.
