About Chewko

Chewko is a rural locality in the Shire of Mareeba on the Atherton Tablelands of Far North Queensland, south-west of Mareeba. Its hilly tableland country includes the peaks of Mount Abbot, Mount Aunt and Mount Uncle, and the Tablelands railway line passes through with a station at Chewko. Granite Gorge Nature Park, known for its granite rock formations and Mareeba rock wallabies, lies within the locality.
