About Samford Valley
Samford Valley is a rural locality in the City of Moreton Bay, one of two localities making up the town of Samford, about 22 km north-west of Brisbane in the secluded valley of the upper South Pine River. First leased as a pastoral run in 1855 and settled for farming from the 1860s, the valley grew around dairying, timber and bananas, and in the late 1920s sent more bananas through its railway station than any other in Queensland. It has since become a rural residential area.
