About Samford Village
Samford Village is a rural locality in the City of Moreton Bay, Queensland, about 22 km north-west of Brisbane, one of two localities that make up the town of Samford on the upper reaches of the South Pine River. The district was first taken up as the Samford pastoral run in the 1850s and settled more closely from 1865. The village itself grew after the Ferny Grove to Dayboro railway reached Samford in 1918; by the late 1920s its station consigned more bananas than any other Queensland railhead. The line closed in 1955. The area has one of the best-preserved bora rings in South East Queensland.
