About Camp Mountain

Camp Mountain is a rural locality in the City of Moreton Bay, Queensland, Australia, located 20 kilometres north-west of Brisbane. Named after a gold miners' camp from the 1860s, the area was a major banana-growing region until the bunchy top virus devastated crops in the 1930s. Its granite was quarried for Brisbane City Hall foundations. The locality was the site of Queensland's worst rail disaster in 1947.
