About Closeburn
Closeburn is a rural locality in the City of Moreton Bay, Queensland, situated roughly 29 kilometres north-west of Brisbane in the wider Samford Valley. Originally known as Cedar Creek after the watercourse running through it, the locality takes its present name from the Closeburn railway station, named by the Queensland Railways Department on 4 February 1901 after the town of Closeburn in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Today it is a blend of acreage properties and small farms near the D'Aguilar National Park.
