About Yugar
Yugar is a rural locality in the City of Moreton Bay, about 20 kilometres north-west of Brisbane. The name derives from a Yuggera word meaning a type of fern, and was applied to the railway station in 1917 on the former Dayboro line. The site is notable for the Yugar Train Tunnel Memorial, which houses a rare colony of bent-wing bats studied by the University of Queensland.
