About Donnybrook (Qld)
Donnybrook is a coastal town in the City of Moreton Bay, Queensland, situated on the western side of the Pumicestone Passage opposite northern Bribie Island. About 25 kilometres south of Caloundra, the town takes its name from the brawling among oyster farmers who camped there in the 1880s when the Moreton Bay Oyster Company operated nearby. Today it is a quiet fishing and holiday village with a jetty, caravan park and coastal park.
