About Cremorne (Qld)
Cremorne is a suburb on the northern bank of the Pioneer River in Mackay, Queensland, with Barnes Creek forming its northern boundary. It was first settled in the 1860s, when John Greenwood Barnes became the earliest settler on the north side of the river. The Cremorne Hotel, built in 1884, and its Cremorne Gardens became popular weekend venues, and the Forgan Bridge now links the suburb to the city centre.
