About West Mackay
West Mackay is a residential suburb immediately west of Mackay's CBD, diamond-shaped and bounded by the Pioneer River to the north-west and the Bruce Highway to the north-east. The North Coast railway and Nebo Road run through the area, with the Edmund Casey Bridge carrying traffic across the Pioneer River. It forms a mixed residential and transport corridor on the city's western side.
