About Mackay Harbour
Mackay Harbour is a coastal locality roughly 5 kilometres north-east of Mackay's CBD, defined by the Port of Mackay, one of the world's largest bulk sugar export terminals. The locality combines industrial port facilities with residential areas and the Mackay Marina, bounded by the Coral Sea to the east and the Pioneer River to the south. The deep-water port was officially opened in 1939.
