About Beenleigh

Beenleigh is a town and suburb in the City of Logan, Queensland, on the Gold Coast railway line about 33 kilometres south-east of central Brisbane. European settlement began with German Lutheran farmers in the district from 1864, and a government survey laid out the town in 1866. Beenleigh is best known for its rum distillery, established in 1884 beside the Albert River on the local sugar industry and still the oldest operating distillery in Queensland.
