About Mount Walker West
Mount Walker West is a rural locality split between the Scenic Rim Region and the City of Ipswich in South East Queensland, about 40 kilometres south-west of Ipswich. It is bounded to the east by the Bremer River, with land rising towards the west, and is used for grazing, cropping and plantation forestry. The locality takes its name from Mount Walker, a peak originally named Mount Forbes by John Oxley in 1824.
