About Mount Walker (Qld)
Mount Walker is a rural locality in the Scenic Rim Region bounded to the west by the Bremer River, with its namesake mountain rising to 471 metres in the east. The mountain was originally named Mount Forbes by John Oxley but later renamed after a shepherd from the Franklyn Vale pastoral station. Predominant land use is grazing on native vegetation, with some irrigated cropping.
