About Merryvale
Merryvale is a rural locality in the Ipswich region of Queensland, located about 42.5 kilometres southwest of Ipswich and 82.1 kilometres southwest of Brisbane in the Scenic Rim Region. Merryvale Provisional School opened in 1894, closed in 1904, relocated and reopened as Franklyn Vale Provisional School in 1906, closed in 1915, moved back in 1922 as Merryvale State School celebrating its 50th jubilee in 1947, before finally closing in 1961.
