About Wandal

Wandal is an established residential suburb of Rockhampton, located about two kilometres northwest of the city centre. Originally surveyed in the 1860s, the area was home to several large estates including those of explorer William Knox D'Arcy and the Hall family, benefactors behind the Mount Morgan mine. A tram service from 1909 spurred suburban development, and the suburb retains much of its interwar and postwar housing stock.
