About Park Avenue

Park Avenue is a suburb of Rockhampton in the Rockhampton Region, Queensland, Australia. Located roughly two kilometres north of the city centre, it is bounded to the south-west by the Fitzroy River. The origin of the name is uncertain, though Queens Park on the river's shore may have played a part. Development began with a housing estate in 1924, and the suburb features Kershaw Gardens along Moores Creek, the Neville Hewitt Bridge carrying the Bruce Highway, and Stockland Rockhampton shopping centre.
