About The Narrows (Qld)
The Narrows is a coastal locality in the Gladstone Region of Queensland, named after the narrow channel that separates the mainland from Curtis Island and can be crossed on foot at low tide. The locality includes part of the forested Rundle Range, protected as Rundle Range National Park, and Balaclava Island, named in 1864 after the Battle of Balaclava of the Crimean War.
