About Ambrose

Ambrose is a rural town in the Gladstone Region of Central Queensland, located 38 kilometres north-west of Gladstone along the Bruce Highway. Named after pioneer Henry Gilbert Ambrose, a local settler, the town serves the surrounding cattle-grazing district. The North Coast railway line also passes through the locality, and Ambrose State School has operated since 1914, making it a long-standing community hub in the hinterland.
