About Curtis Island
Curtis Island is an offshore island locality in the Gladstone Region of Queensland, lying at the entrance to Gladstone Harbour on the central coast. The townships of Beachton and Southend lie within the locality, which hosts major liquefied natural gas export plants. Parts of the island are protected as Curtis Island National Park, preserving eucalypt woodlands and sandy beaches.
