About Kirkwood
Kirkwood is a semi-rural locality in the Gladstone Region of Queensland, located 10 kilometres south of Gladstone Central and 515 kilometres north-north-west of Brisbane. Named after a notable Gladstone family, the locality is bounded to the north by Kirkwood Road and east by Auckland Creek. The O'Connell Ridges mountain range passes through the south and the Gladstone Mountain Bike Park with 36 trails totalling 27 kilometres is a key attraction.
