About Kin Kora
Kin Kora is a residential suburb of Gladstone in the Gladstone Region of Queensland, located 5.7 kilometres southwest of the Gladstone central business district and 511 kilometres north-northwest of Brisbane. Named after Kin Kora Creek which was named around 1853 by Dublin-born surveyor Francis Peter MacCabe, the name is the traditional Irish name for the stronghold of Brian Boru, the King of Ireland. The suburb is home to the Windmill Centre shopping centre, the Gladstone Golf Club with its 18-hole course and Kin Kora State School which opened on 9 October 1981.
