About Gwambegwine

Gwambegwine is a rural locality in the Shire of Banana, bounded by Palm Tree Creek to the north and the Murphy Range to the south. The locality was explored by Ludwig Leichhardt during his 1844 overland expedition from Moreton Bay to Port Essington, and he named the Murphy Range after a member of his party. Land use is predominantly cattle grazing.
