About Glenmoral

Glenmoral is a rural locality in the Shire of Banana in central Queensland, situated approximately 30 kilometres west of Theodore and 63 kilometres south-west of Moura. The area is traversed by the Leichhardt Highway and lies within the Callide Valley region, known for its coal mining, cattle grazing and grain production. The Shire of Banana takes its name from a dun-coloured bullock used to decoy wild cattle in the 1850s.
