About Mowbray (Qld)
Mowbray is a coastal locality in Far North Queensland, about 13 kilometres south of Port Douglas on the Captain Cook Highway. Mountainous terrain bounded by Trinity Bay to the east and the Great Dividing Range to the south-west includes peaks up to 1,068 metres, and Mowbray Conservation Park, Mowbray National Park and Macalister Range National Park protect significant rainforest. Low-lying river flats along the Mowbray River support sugarcane, and the Kuku Yalanji people are the traditional owners.
