About Bungalow

Bungalow is an inner suburb of Cairns in the Cairns Region of Queensland, located 2.8 kilometres southwest of the Cairns central business district on traditional Yidinji Aboriginal country. The name comes from The Bungalow, the residence of Archdeacon Joseph Campbell, a clergyman and agricultural entrepreneur. The suburb has almost no green space and is entirely freehold with a mixture of residential and commercial development. The German Club Cairns, formerly the Germania Club, was established in 1971 by nine German-speaking migrants and operates as the German-Austrian-Swiss Association. The suburb contains the Showground Shopping Centre on Mulgrave Road.
